Do you do it

All classic VW drivers tend to do this followed by a ...

Yup, I'll flash or give the thumbs up to Integra and Civic-R's, not EP3 Civic's though as they don't do it back.

Defo do this in the MX5, flash the pop ups if I see another mk1, wave if I don't see them in time. Will always say hi to mk2 or mk3 drivers who say hi first.

Also did this with the mk1 mr2.

i dont get it

is this king stromba bloke a dealer, or does he just hoarde them or something ?

He is very love or hate, personally never had a problem and he is a good laugh. He is very strong in his oppinions though which I think is what narks people off. Not spoken to him for awhile but he owns (well think he still does) Clio Williams No 2 and has owned a string of others. His was featured in the greatest FWD cars of all time article in EVO and was also on Fifth Gear being compared to the 197 at the time of release.

As already been stated by a few, bikers do this all the time.

Although I reckon the tradition may well be getting a bit diluted when it comes to newish 2 wheelers. And most Harley Davidson owners dont bother to acknowledge you if you wave at them ( I wave at all 2 wheelers, even bike cops ).

Funny story time.

A bunch of us from the Aprilia Oracle owners club website were out for a run a few years ago coming back down towards Glencoe. We passed about a dozen HD riders as we headed down to Glencoe Village. None of them waved back at us as we gave them a friendly biker wave/greeting. The HD rider 3rd from the back actually did more than that and stuck his middle finger up at us as we passed.

Our rider at the front slowed down, indicated and pulled in to the side of the road. We all about turned and set off back up the road behind the group of Harley D riders. We caught back up with them very quickly. You could see this smart ass on the 3rd bike from the back of the chain nervously checking his mirrors and spotting 6 Aprilia RSV riders behind him. We were making as much if not more noise than the Harleys were, V-Twins and race cans etc.

They stopped in a lay-by a bit further up the road and we pulled in behind them. Matey boy that had flicked us the "bird" was visibly quaking in his boots. We didn't approach them and enter into any dialogue but it was really funny to see the tit on the Harley that had flicked us the bird looking like he was about to keel over with fright. :p

tell me about it. I booked a travelogde at middlewich after my oulton park weekend and im now sick of Eddies. I recon on average 1 lorry every 2 minutes came out of that depot all night long :(

That about right for that deopt - there are two there, ones a Tesco distribution centre - which is operated by Eddie Stobart Ltd - the other is a "Tesco Trunking Station" again, run by ESL.

You'd be amazed how many "Eddie Spotters" are around 24/7 taking pictures & writing down "Fleet Numbers" - Sad. :D

I used to give waves to other 4g Prelude owners when I drove mine.

If I see a Galant/Legnum, I'll occasionally give a wave, but I don't see enough of the VR-4's to really get a reaction - the non-VR-4 ones are usually driven by old blokes in caps...

still got your legnum? i also drive a vr4.. coty edition!

most vr4 owners do more than just wave.. .. ... convoy!

Very common for Landy owners to wave, also if I'm on the bike I'll give a nod to other riders (except when in central London).

Had my first experience of this on Sunday by a weird looking man in another nightfire coupe. Needless to say I ignored him and he looked like he felt like a tit hehe.
