Do you enjoy driving?

Driving is awesome compared to touching the hand rails and smelling BO on the underground trains, or putting up with crying babies and chavs on buses, or breaking awkward conversation with a taxi driver.

This is most definately true, and is why I am pleased I at least have a liscence now!

I don't enjoy it as much as I used to in the eighties when the roads were emptier, it says a lot that the round Britain record is held by a 1979 Talbot Alpine, the congestion is just so bad these days that the term "sports car" is almost a joke, I'd get around faster on a moped than in a Veyron 99% of the time.
Even riding my sportsbike is becoming restricted

I wonder if there is a corrolation between people who hate driving and people who drive stuff like diesel Vauxhalls? Perhaps you hate driving because the car doesn't interest you.

No, i think i dont like driving because it is something that i do every single day to simply go to work, visit family ferry the family about etc.

Even when i had some of my nicer cars i didnt enjoy it either, dont get me wrong the first time driving the subaru or E28 im sure i remember really loving it, but that feeling soon wore off.

I really would like to enjoy driving as it is something i have to do every day (usually do about 500 miles per week) so to enjoy those miles would be a bonus.

I enjoy driving i find it quite relaxing listening to music on an open road at night. But i am having some anxiety problems at the moment and its making me not enjoy driving as much.

zootfloot, you will find you get around that by getting a second, obscene car.

I do ~800-1000 miles per week in the car in my sig, a big lazy comfy V8 automatic which does a fairly good job at easing the pain of driving, on week days i feel the same as you do. I actively avoid anything other than trunk routes as i simply cannot be arsed to even do too much steering or taking it off cruise control.

On the weekend though, a blast in a (pre convertible) 911 or TVR or something fun and its a whole different ball game. I love wringing its engine and feeling the air rush past, listening to the noise, give me a small B-road any day. :)

I love driving no matter the situation; I drive through the centre of London frequently. It gives me time to reflect in my own space. I do own a couple of nice cars but I reckon I'd still enjoy it no matter what I drove.

No, because there isn't a single person in this town that can drive properly. Everyone in this town is at least 325 years old and drives at 3mph, letting everyone cross the road, braking unneccessarily for hills and has a habit of not indicating at roundabouts.

OI  I take exception to that... I can drive properly... though since I'm almost always at work, you'll not have had chance to see that unless you happen to see my wonderful reverse parking when I arrive.
That said though, my missus drives better than most of the inhabitants of Bideford, and she's only had four lessons and has nearly rolled the car twice. :D

I am starting to enjoy it again since getting out of my jeep & into a car but my car is to slow off the mark & is ****** me off, It just generally feels heavy off the mark & you can't feel the front end until around 50'ish :(
Once moving it feels sound but I want quick & light so changes will have to be made.
Hot hatch & mid life crisis here I come :D

probably old age.... but I used to love driving now I find it tedious

reasonably quick grp 15 car - thats fun to drive - and yes thats fun - but stop start traffic is a bore, and long drives on the motorway I hate

my tolerance to being able to drive long distances on motorways has really diminished - I used to drive 500 odd miles a day with stops - now struggle with 150 !

seem to get tired a lot quicker - perhaps I just now realise when I'm actually tired - not sure

Yep. 'Rents recently sold our Saxo VTR 1.6 which compared to our new Honda Jazz 1.2 was like a sports car (not much weight and a lot of power)! Was so fun... torque all the way through the rev range in 1st and 2nd.. had a jet engine esq. whine when hitting the the top revs :D Loved going out at night when there's no one about on a weekday, putting some loud music on and flooring it about NSL roads I knew well.

Not so much fun with this new Jazz.. cornerings horrible and there's NO power at all. Seems to understeer going about 5 mph round corners :(

Absolutely love driving, but get annoyed if i'm stuck in traffic. However on the open road, in summer, sun glasses on and windows down there is not much that can match it imo

I hate driving cars. Boring as hell. At least on my motorcycle, things were more fun. Shame 99% of drivers drive blinkered though.
