Do you ever type a post then delete it?

frequently...more often than not its because, i just dont want to have the hassle, of defending what i feel is correct. :D

Frequently, usually after beer.

Thankfully for the forums & sanity of mods, I tend to hold posting until the following day, after getting into trouble at other places "for typing in drink!" :o :D

Did it several occasions last night in this thread.

I was semi interested in the product but was taken back by the pure arrogance of the poster t31os.

Really wanted to say something but didn't want to involve myself in thread trashing (even though that wasn't my intention)

The 8th post (which he edited afterwards) was making my pee boil, if i were the seller i'd have been suspended along with him.

 Grrr

Yeah, I usually do it when I reread my reply and it sounds more stupid then when I was typing it out in the first place.

I do it quite often. I also edit my posts lost—not after posting them, I just mean that I re-read them over and over before posting, rewording and rejigging things.

I quite often type out a post then delete it and start again.

Ive typed replies and then decided against posting at all as well.

Yes. Generally becuase I put together a reply and then realise I will get one of the following replies in return:

'Why don't you just hit the back button'
'If you don't like the thread don't read it'
'If it upsets you that much you need to get out more'
'Lighten up'

Which as it is a discussion forum I find a bit lame. That 'it's ok to post in a thread as long as you agree with the rest of us' mentality is just so pathetic. These days though I don't tend to bother, it's not worth the effort really. Let someone else educate them I say ;) :p

I am so glad this thread was started as I thought that I was the only one doing this!

I agree that sometimes it is enough just to type the rant out to let off steam, or when you post whilst 'tired and emotional', it doesn't always make sense, so the delete option is good. I was banned once for a post I have absolutely no memory of posting and I swear to this day that it wasn't me, but there you go.

probably over half of my posts are binned. Usually its because i cant explain what im trying to say very well or just out of lazyness :p
