Taking a risk and making a decision based on chance is part of being human. Ok, so you may make the wrong choice but you'll still be alive at the end of it. What's the worst that could happen?

Not really though, the result could mean death in some extreme circumstances, so the worst that could happen, is that you'll die. :p

In that case you take the option least likely to result in your bloody demise.

Edit: In this situation, s/he'll either be happy you contacted them or they won't. Regret for having done something is far easier to live with than regret for having not. IIRC someone's sig put it far more eloquently :p.

I did wonder. :) That's the only one that I've seen though, must borrow it off the ex again sometime.
 
You might like a film called the "Butterfly effect", it's not quite the same a "sliding doors", but it very cleverly shows the impact the decisions we make in life can have. Doing the right thing, does not always result in a positve outcome.

And I kind of like the uncertainty of life, makes it exciting. Mistakes are only a mistake if you learn nothing from them.

I've been having the same thoughts about getting in contact with my ex - but can't bring myself to do it.

Just seems like a waste that after 2.5 years together, we haven't spoken in like 5 months.
