So the question is: Do you run all of your Windows machines with a totally legal licence?

Now, this thread will only stay open if it stays piracy free. You can talk whether you argee with it or not or why you think it is pirated so much and whether this piracy could ever be made into sales, but no details of how it could be done or "just use linux" posts.

Indeed I do. 2 Desktop machines and a Laptop in the house and they are all running a fully licensed copy of Windows Vista Home Premium. There is also my student Laptop which I am guessing is fully licensed aswell.

Slaps for anyone voting anything other than "All of my PCs are legally licensed". :p:D

All licenced up. As a software developer piracy peeves me!

I also cannot see why people spend £££ on a new gfx card or processor, and bemoan spending £80 on an OEM copy of an OS...

I can't see the point in running pirated copies. Sure, it costs money but if your legal then you won't have any trouble...only from instability :D

Not sure, my work laptop and personal laptop are definitely legal but i have a copy of Vista Ultimate, on my home desktop, that i got from works MSDN that i have a log on for. Not a 100% sure if i can run it as a normal OS as they are meant for 'development' use. Never really read the license that much to understand it

I know a computer that installs software, charges for it but doesn't pay for the licenses. Dodgy or what...one thing for home user to do it, another when making hundreds of thousands a year on not paying for liceneses.

Another interesting thing that was brought up in another thread of those who bought Vista did they buy Ultimate or consider it too expensive?

I'm going with most are legally licenced. I have 2 ex-work lappys running the corporate licences so they're probably not 100% kosher. I only every use them as emergency fallbacks.

Main rig is fully legal, Officer.

The retail version, yes!

All legit here, two desktops and a lappy. Vista Ulitmate, XP Prof * 2.

Yup, ever since I left school and could afford to buy a licence, been fully legal. With all my apps as well.

Only got Home Premium though, Ultimate was too expensive for the features it offered. And we still arn't seeing some of the features promised.

All my machines have legal licences, althouth I may have reactivated one or two after a hardware failure. I've got legit copies of all most OS's upto Vista. that ware thee are no comebacks

I have a legal copy of both XP and Vista Ultimate, however, I dual boot both my main rig and laptop so i guess although each machine is running A legal version of windows, they are both at the same time running a second OS whcih they should not be :(
I only do this so i have a backup install in case anything goes wrong.

Fully licensed for Vista here, home premium as Ultimate did not offer additional features I would actually use.

I run proper licensed soft on my regular desktop and laptops, but not on test or temporary setups. Don't see any point, that's what the "trial" in Vista is for.
