Hi there, please can you recommend a mobo, I cant find one on OCUK, dont think they sell them with this being an old socket...I am buying a new PC and I have another post on here asking for the latest mobo, but I'm wanting to sell my current PC and need to upgrade the mobo.

My current mobo doesnt support overclocking and so my Q8200 is at stock 2.3ghz when I could prob overclock it to over 3.5ghz with another mobo and also it only has one PCI-Express lane, so can only have one graphics card, the plan is to buy a new socket 755 mobo, overclock the CPU and buy another graphics card for crossfire.

Am giving the PC to a family member, just so you know, so will be worth it in the end.

Thanks in advance.

Q8200 is socket 775.
Intel P45, x38 and x48 chipsets support xfire
nVidia's 750, 780 & 790 chipsets support SLI

Out of these, many will recommend Asus P5Q pro or P5Q Deluxe (P45)

I just found this motherboard on another website "BioStar TPower I45." it was recommend to someone else looking for same thing, it says this motherboard can overclock my CPU and it has crossfire but it's £113.86 including VAT which seems quite a lot for an old socket 755.

I'll do a search on the ones you just said thanks.

I don't think there's any of these motherboards on OCUK is there?

some times they are going for £40-45 on members market(second hand), but not on OCUK web site.
Mind you, since you are going to get a new mobo and a GPU as well, why not sell the existing stuff and go for an i5 setup?

if i remember the biostar was one of the most overclocking boards of it's time on the 775 socket according to custom pc.
