I detest the steaming pile of ****, HOWEVER, I maybe too hasty in my judgement. Could a mod please make a poll.

Never used it but judging by most people's opinions, yes, it is terrible and does nothing but hinders gamers who actually pay for their games. Such as DRM, which it is really.
 
ive never had a problem with it and do not understand the hate it receives, and i do own quite a few games that use it. ive also bought games through it and had no negative experiences.
 
No, I find it an extra layer to wade through between me and the game, poorly designed, seems to require restarting all the time and unlike steam (which is relatively unobtrusive) I can't actually see what its giving me as an advantage.
 
Yes

I like the Achievements & some of the Co-Op/MP games are pretty decent as well. Unlike Steam you can disable it with 2 button clicks so it just sits in the background forever & you can also disable ALL onscreen notifications if you so wish.

GFWL love it or hate it actually makes many PC games possible which would otherwise not be ported over as 85% of the Xbox code is in GFWL titles already via the MSDN which is why so many companies chose it as the console SDK already has that work done so no need to program 3rd party tools like Steamworks.
 
I'm sure someone created 1 of these threads the last time people started slagging off GFWL big time :p

No game has ever been improved by the addition of GFWL.

No you're not hasty, it is rubbish.

I've lost count the amount of times it won't except a genuine CD key, fail to login with the correct details, failed to update. Waited ages for it to login only to be told I need to update, quit the game, wait for it to update, to restart the game only to be told there's an update. It doesn't even support mouse control properly.

DAMN RIGHT!

I only even use it because Dawn of War 2 forces me to do it.
I could care less about the achievements and all that crap. I just want to play my game.


What really annoys me is that I have to log into steam to play the game, then to actually play it I need to also log into that GFWL crap!
 
Never given me a problem with the 6 game I have that use it.
Quite like the concept though the implementation might not be the best.

Don't understand all the hate that gets thrown at it.
