Do you like it hard or soft?

I use both and they're both fine. I'm tempted to convert to soft mat only though (mostly because they tend to require less effort to look after/wipe down).

This tbh, I've used both and don't mind either.

Currently using an age old Icymat that pulled out of storage recently. Is a bit of a pain keeping it clean compared to a cloth pad.

currently using a roccat alumic hard mat, its great. I find it easier to clean than my soft mats, a quick wipe with a microfibre cloth and its good as new.

Have tried several mice with it (mx518, logitech G7, razer naga, razer naga epic elite) and they all track flawlessly on it

Was just looking at the review posted on the OCUK site, the guy says its "warp proof" essentially due to the thickness of the aluminium.

Is that true? Does it feel sturdy?

my find never warped, but my B.A.se did
I wanna copy that warped with a huge motherland :-O
my func and raptad took a ton of abuse and are fine. Easy to clean too

I have always been a fan of soft ones although I have had both. My BoogieBug mat is starting to come apart at the edges mind =(
