Do You Like Phil Collins?

Had "Groovy Kind of Love" as one of our wedding songs!

To be fair, the main criteria (from my point of view) was that they had to be slow and unvarying in tempo so I could cling to my bride, slowly rotate, and not make a tit of myself.

Love him. His music got me through high school really. No son of mine hit home too hard.

I've got too many favourites that I listen to a few times a week, a lot of them already mentioned.

He's a phenomenal singer and a very talented musician and songwriter.

That's doesn't mean I like all his stuff, but I can appreciate genuine musical brilliance.

Some favourite songs are Mama, Jesus He knows Me, Land of Confusion and In The Air Tonight.

To all the PC detractors, I once witnessed an absolutely spellbinding performance by the Phil Collins Big Band a few years back at the Montreux Jazz Festival.

I just remember the band were so tight and Collins' rimshots echoing around the venue like artillery fire.

In fact, he reduced that stage in Montreux to a pile of smouldering embers that night. It really was quite extraordinary.

A unique talent.
