Do you look forward to going to work?

I drive in each day and I am disappointed when the building isn't on fire.

But that's less about the actual work and more about the sheer incompetence I have to deal with from those above me in the chain of command.

Currently the only way I see myself being motivated would be to set up my own business. Therefore it would be something that interests me. And the harder I work the more money I get. Rather than current state of the harder I work, the exact same money I get, and no praise from my employers...

However, I cannot see this coming off - Too risky, need money, need a business idea etc..

I enjoy the work I do especially while I am looking into getting more advanced and developing a bigger skill set. However work at current wants me to develop software while keeping it as basic as possible. It's annoying, but I do understand if I made it too advanced if I were to go my boss would not be able to pick it up as quickly (Small small small small group of IT guys and only 2 developers)

I enjoy going to work, I enjoy the work I do and the environment I work in. I am a Senior Project Analyst in the field of Linguistics.

Work is very varied for me and I find it challenging. It's certainly not boring and the clock doesn't crawl, so in that sense it must be a good job. On the whole I like the people I work with too.

But nobody wants to work everyday! A good job is one that is good some days merely meh on the rest. I think having the time of your life every day is somewhat unrealistic.

Yes.

I write software, I work for a great company, in a great location and with a great team.

not based around the midlands and taking on new guys to train by any chance? :p Our place does testing/software dev but its based in London and tbh, as a user our code is horrendous :p

Used to when I was a bog standard worker at my defence firm. Now that I actually work in engineering, I have so many responsibilities that I can't do my main job. The pay is dreadful for the amount of work I do. I've had pay rise promises for as long as I can remember too.

Virtually every morning I ask myself "why do I bother" as I face a one hour trip via bus.

In general yes, I do enjoy going to work - I'm a chemical engineer and work for an oil company. I like the people I work with, managers are nice, work is fairly interesting (if sometimes frustrating due to the systems/database we use) and I'm learning a lot. It's also very likely I'll move roles once I've completed ~2 years in my current job, so career progression is very good.

Ok, so a job is a job and we'd all rather be at home all day doing whatever we want, but living in the real world my job isn't half bad :).

I don't look forward to going to work - I'd rather be doing other things. I do however enjoy my job. Granted it could be better paid and there could be some tangible benefits, but I do enjoy it which is a plus

Meh. I don't hate it but I don't really enjoy it either. I know there are far far worse jobs out there I could be doing, but also far far better (in job satisfaction terms).

I keep telling myself I shouldn't moan as I'm lucky to have a job that I don't really hate, its just getting up in a mornings that's the problem!

However I'd much rather win the jackpot on the lottery and not have to think about money any more.
