Do you mark your gear?

I've got a small fortune of gear sitting now and I use a lot of it almost everyday. I also lend things out occasionally, although only to those i trust.

However, i feel like i should be marking my gear. Does anyone else do it? Do you just record serial numbers for insurance etc? I dont think it's enough to just have stuff, i need to track it really. Maybe that's my rental background and im just being paranoid or surely its just better safe than sorry?

If you do mark it, how? I dont want to ruin resale values.

Get some UV pens?

I have all the boxes and insured so no need to mark them.

I do what Ray said and use UV pens. Every house in the area was given a UV pen as part of our neighbourhood watch scheme so I wrote over all my valuables.
