Talking to a mate, shes cut off this morning (internet)

apparently her mate has no telephone number, only broadband for the last 2 years

she wants the same, but her broadband just cut off this morning, and im wondering if it could be becuase she hasent paid BT for her phone.

or the other side of the coin it could be her provider which is crap and doesent always work

EDIT//

Thinking about it, i bet she hasent paied the line rental, in which case then thats why?

If her broadband comes down the phone line (DSL) then yeah, getting the phone line cut off would do it.

There are alternatives available like Cable and in some areas weird wireless things.

Not to mention it uses some form of uplink usually phone line based - dial up, isdn etc. Two way sat is even more expensive!

If she has no phone line you're looking at fixed point wifi or cable unless she has way more money than sense. Fixed point wifi usage is highly unlikley as the coverage and uptake in a covered area is minute compared to traditional services such as cable or adsl.
