I gave up caffeine two days ago and it sucks. I dont have energy for anything, little makes me happy. I got a date tonight so I've just had a coffee to cheer me up but it got me thinking........ do you need coffee/caffeine to be more social? or is this just withdrawal symptoms?

Coffee to cheer you up? Not heard that one before. I drink coffee because I like it, not because I rely on caffeine. And it certainly doesn't affect my social skills in any way.

I've drank tea near enough every single morning for the past 5 years. If I don't have a cup of tea in the morning, I'll most likely feel tired and slow for the rest of the day and sometimes I even get headaches.

I only drink 2 cups of tea in the day so I can't understand why I seem to have a 'dependency' on it in the morning.

Nope, I can go without it, and often do, I don't like the work coffee and theres not enough time for me to have it in the mornings and I only have about 3 hours when I get in from work and I'd never sleep so it's a weekend thing, weekdays I go without.

I love it though. Once I drank 27 espressos in a day and a can of coke (because that makes all the difference).
I felt like **** in the evening let me tell you.

*I'd shop the beer to a coffee cup but, well, effort*

Caffeine is surprisingly addictive.

I've cut down massively now, to only one cup of tea a day. The loss in energy is a pain in the arse and the frequent headaches only stopped a week or so ago.

I used to drink one a day at work, then I gave it up. Felt worse (relatively, it was only one cup) for about 10 days but now feel better for it.

Hot drinks now come in the form of green tea.
