Do you need force to secure a intel cpu lid down?

:D now remind me why i don't buy PC bits on ebay???
I buy used components all the time and never had an issue.

It's fairly easy to tell which sellers are honest and which are unscrouplous.

Nothing wrong with selling faulty/damaged hardware at auction as long as the sellers includes the right information. Anyone that tries to sell faulty/damaged hardware as good and working is just asking for trouble.

I thought you had to use a different HDD if you're going from AMD to Intel or vice versa? Are you using the same one as in your Opty rig?

Ok guys, my abit ip35 pro has just arrived, all fingers and toes crossed that the E8400 cpu will work in this...... Im about 80% sure it will, cos other ppl has had there E8400 working straight out of the box:eek:

Holy ****!

How on earth did that happen? You may have the el-destructor touch if you can do that to a motherboard!

God I hope you did install the CPU the right way round? we may need pictures of the CPU and the socket to be sure? :o

any news?

Lee

Build my system and it worked first time with everything in place(cards, mem, drives). Temps r a tad crazy, in the bios its 127c and in windows its 45c. When I stress the cpu using prime95 only 1 of the cores gets 2c hotter 47c, so thats wrong I know. I tried the cpu at 3.6ghz but windows wont boot, so its on 3.4 atm, and its doing 13secs in superpi at 3.4.

Wheres the beta bios version for the abit ip35 pro??, cos I can only see version 14, and im pretty sure I have 14 already

Just found the beta but its in a diff lang,, Is it best to wait for the proper version to come out, cos my sys is going really well accept for the temp prob, not had a single crash yet, and everything has gone to dam smooth for my likeing..lol

The board was rejected as I thought it was going to be. Anyway got the board back today, strightend all the pins then super glued the caps back on.

Ive put the super glue on the 2 metal bits that holds the caps on, but ive manage to get a tiny bit onto the blue Circuits. Should still be ok shouldnt it???
