Hi as title says I am noticing a lot of freezing on my PC and I am currently at 3.3Ghz on my Q6600. I have read that the North and South Bridge get very hot is it best that I upgrade the fans to make it run cooler ??

All so is there any software to monitor the temps of the North and South Bridge and what Temp Should I make sure it stays below ??

thanks for any help !

If you use the supplied clip on fan you'll be fine, set it to 50% if it's too noisy.

nTune or what ever Nvidia's monitoring software is called is pretty good on those boards.

Which 680i board is it?

I've never found them good for overclocking myself... FSB over 1333 seems to result in regular complete freezes...

I had the stiker and water cooled the nb and changed the sb heatsink and on duo it ran well at 2000 24/7 alas not so good with quad but i here later bios made it a bit better

my board is the EVGA 680i and my PC keeps on freezing after running prime95. was thinking it was because of the temps on the north and south bridge, as I have read that these get hot.

any help is appreciated ! ;)

Take the side of the case off and see if that helps the lockups, if it does then have a feel of the N/b and S/b chips and if there hot to touch* then thats prob ** problem

*not sure what hot is any more, i've burnt my fingers on the frying pan farrrr to much.:D
