Do you notice input lag (gaming)?

Looking to get a new 47 inch LCD, narrowed it down to a Sony W805 and the Panasonic 60ET. The Sony has about half the input lag of the Panasonic but is around £800 whereas the Panasonic can be had for £650 with a 5 year guarantee! This leaves me wondering if the Sony is really worth the extra based on just the input lag and how much that will be an issue in real world terms.

Currently gaming on a 42 inch Sharp Aquos from about 6 years ago but can't find details of the lag on that so it could be that it's considerably higher and I haven't noticed, unless lag has increased in newer sets as new feature rear their head!

The Sony is 16ms and the Panasonic is 34ms I think! The £150 May be best saved and put towards a half decent sound system, all tv's seem to have abysmal sound these days

I would also base my choice on Picture Quality, Price and Screen Size.

Not just lag.

Yep, doesn't seem to me much to call between either set..apart from £150
