Why do you ask?

No reason, it's just a subject i've often seen on other forums that can get quite a large response.

Sometimes the subject can get quite complex on some forums with people arguing over the lifespan of electrolytic capacitor and such.

Pretty surprised at the Microwave on standby, I wrongly thought they used highly efficient switch-mode power supplys.
