Just polling to get the feeling about the two panel types these days.

A: Prefer Glossy
B: Prefer Anti-Reflection Film Applied

B

However, it has to be extremely light and as good as the current 21.9 IPS monitors, not a heavy matte finish like what most TN panels and older IPS panels use

A - Glossy. Reflections aren't a problem in a controlled environment.
Exactly this. Why anyone would want an inferior image quality is beyond me. Spend all that money for nice immersive graphics, all to then stick a blurry coating over it. The mind boggles :P

Ya it is quite strange that in my research the demand for glossy is quite high. Yet, hardly anyone produces them anymore.

Currently staring at one of the lightest AR coatings available (Acer XB270hu) - the grainy haze has annoyed me for over a year.

Bring back glossy/semi glossy.

loved the old glossy hp monitors,in there day. still have one in the loft as a back up monitor,

Just turn off the lights or close curtains and enjoy superior picture. I hope new monitors in 2017 are glossy or glossy with a very very light coating.
