Do you read the Daily Mail?

I read it to see what I need to be angry about and that's all.
:p

Summed up beautifully.

My wife's parents read it, and they are always moaning about something that the Daily Mail is stirring up. It's normally a storm in a tea cup, and any decent rational research would usually kill a Daily Mail headline dead.

The papers are quite clever as they normally have:

a. A voucher with money off the other scumrag, The Daily Express.
b. A voucher off something you don't really need in Superdrug or WHSmith.
c. A dvd of some long dead 'classic' film or tv series, which you don't have time to watch.

This draws people into buying it, as they think they are getting something for free. Unfortunately the paper then infects the innocent reader with hatred and envy. BOOOO!!

So most of the population rely on The Sun and DM as their source for knowledge? See, this is why most people are morons :(.

DM will find this thread and thus write an article that based on the fact not many people from this forum read the DM, logic only dictates that not many people from this forum are able to read at all. Bunch of illiterate morons we are.

Ok. Apparently the Daily Mail is the second most read paper in the UK (after the Sun) but I've never met anyone who reads it. Ever.

Do any of you guys actually read it or is it just a big conspiracy caused by muslim diana-killing immigrants? And if you read it, why do you like it? Because that is confusing me as well!

Someone at my old work read it. The person is huge, about 56 years old, and she believes everything they print in there.

When you get to the heart of it, she actually WANTS to be shocked and outraged. She likes it. She finds it fun having lots of OMG moments. The truth? That's a distant second in her reasons for reading the thing. Some long story PROVING that Iran was distributing funds to the Taliban (a MASSIVE story)? She'd find that boring.

Also she likes blaiming her own failings on immigrants .. especially the fact she has a rubbish job. After all it's either the immigrants, or blame herself. Which one is easier to handle for her?

I actually feel embarrassed if I have to carry a copy somewhere public.
