I think to make counter strike more cartoony, like TF2 would be a very bad idea on valve's part. Considering how big the e-sports aspect of it is making the sequel more cartoony could put a lot of serious gamers off.
But then theres the whole, keeping the majority happy thing :/
I think CS is a realistic-ish team based FPS and it should stay that way. Cell shaded cartoon characters is TF2's niche.

Thats a very good shout. Especially with the large number of mmo's coming to the Playstation 3 over the next few years. Add to that the small successes of others across both the Ps3 and 360 and it does seem like a safe bet.

I've heard that the next Blizzard MMO will be free to play with an item mall, similar to many of the Korean MMO's coming out recently. I don't think anything will be confirmed about it for a LONG time.
Playing an MMO on xbox live would suck if you had to pay a subscription too :/ youd have to get live membership and MMO subscription.
And only having a controller would be pretty bad for an MMO. Unless its similar to Guildwars where you have 6 moves that you can use at any one time :<

They want to do do many more ace things with L4D but its not possible with the current L4D1 engine.
They are still using the source engine but its the new source engine not a modification.

Blizzard are working on a brand new IP mmo I believe.
but with how they are dumbing down wow it wont be a sucess.
L4D2 will feel and Run exactly the same as L4D1, its just gonna have new weapons/characters sounds and maps. They are doing sod all to the source engine.

If the next version of CS that came out with in the style of TF2, as long as it would be fun to play, I'd play it!
although games should be for fun'zies there will always be a competitive element involved when there's a score to be compared 2.
Nowadays there's tournaments and full-time gamers. I believe developers feel the need to cater for both types of gamers casual/competitve especially in the fps genre.
But i love to play competitively, that feel-good factor when you kill a cocky player.
cs2 WILL be kick ass, valve are on fire at the moment, lets hope they keep the momentum!
