Can we have a POLL please ? :)

Q. Do you switch your TV to "Game mode" when playing a game?

Yes
No
Don't know/default

Curious to see what most people do
I recently got a new TV and decided to use game mode, but I didn't know exactly what it meant until I did some research..

I thought it was to improve picture quality, but its totally the opposite !!

so I am now going to turn mine off as i don't play online

You should be using Game/PC Mode as it generally reduces any post-processing done by your TV which would normally increase input lag/ghosting and the like.

Really depends on how your TV copes in non-Game modes if you really need it or not. Playing online or not wont affect the above so upto you if you can live with it...

Yes. I thought it reduced picture quality slightly but improved response time. I mainly play FPS so response time is more important than other genres.

Yes I have all my console HDMI channels saved to Game Mode. I get very low input lag with Game Mode on my TV (Panasonic ST50) - If i switch it off I notice the delay right away. I actually prefer the image quality in game mode too.

I use game mode on my LG for everything. I find Blu Rays, Virgin Media and normal Tv seem to be better with it on as well.

I have a Bravia W6 (I think I'm in work so can't check) and watch live tv, blue rays and Netflix through my XB1. Should I just did the game now and leave it on?

I have a 42" Panasonic 3d plasma and I set it on, but use the true cinema setting for everything else.
