Do you think? - Tyre Question

They make a HUGE difference. I would never go back to non-directional tyres..

.... they simply look NOTICEABLY more cool when you park with your wheels turned slightly.

for looks, these surpass eagles now. for performance, they seem to be on par but not had then in the rain yet.

I think he was more referencing of it a tyre can look like it has feelings of homosexuality, in this case, i beleive that means that tyre (if it were gay) would like nothing better than to spend an evening loving it up with another tyre.

Anyway, back on topic, yes directional makes a hell of a difference, but don't think it's the be all and end all of tyres.

Or maybe that tyre tread pattern causes Fox to have some ... homosexual feelings towards the tyre

Anyway, I agree that directional tyres do look far cooler than your standard P6000s but their ability in the dry will be down to the performance of the rubber opposed to the directional tread.

A softer rubber will give more grip in the dry opposed to a harder compound. I think you just tend to find that directional tyres are going hand in hand with performance tyres at the moment

Being serious, the main advantage of directional tyres is their wet performance. It makes no real difference in the dry but in the wet the ability to channel standing water away from the tyre really aids performance and reduces aquaplane.

Wet performance is more important to me than dry performance - if there is ever a time when I may reach the limits of my car under braking or something it's likely to be when its wet, not when its dry. This is why I always go for excellent wet weather tyres which have great dry performance not excellent dry weather performance with acceptable wet performance.

PLUS THEY LOOK COOL.
