....I would be able to max out out my recently upgraded 60Mb Virgin line on 500Mbps homeplugs?

My current devolo av200 plugs sadly max out around 32Mbps so not getting the full benefit of my new found speeed!

Possible, but probably not.

All the reviews I've seen have AV500 adapters running about 50% faster than AV200 adapters.

Unfortunately the performance at different sites varies so much that it’s all guesswork until you actually plug them in and try it.

I have just been looking into this as well and from what I have seen is that you will get an increase yes, I am not sure if you would see an increase enough to match the broadband line though.

I have the 200Mbps homeplugs as well and mine top out at 40Mbps. If you do get some 500 ones please let me know what sort of speed increase you get.

hmmm, very tempted to get a pair of the tp links 500mbps on offer this week to see if that makes a difference.

Will post back if I do...

Could be a sign of poor electrical wiring in your house.

I've shifted data across my network at 90Mbps on my Devolo AV200 - so they would easily cope with a 60mb incoming connection.

maybe a different brand may help as results do seem to vary

Result!

The 500Mbps plugs now maintain around 58Mbps which is just under the max of my 60mbps line!

A vast improvement from my devolo av200 plugs which managed just 32mbps.

My wiring is 30yrs old and the PC sits behind an RCD which won't help matters but I am pleased to say the least.

Ping has also dropped by 2/3 ms when measured to the router so all good!
