Or leave it on all the time with an occassional restart?

Or do you turn it off whenever you're done with it...

Is it bad to leave it always on?

Home PC just gets hibernated each night. I reckon it clocks up about 10-14 days before i give it a reset. Work PC runs 24/7, i had to reset it earlier cause it was being weird. Might have been because its been on about 45 days. Both running windows mind.

I always use sleep. All the power saving benefits of shut-down/hibernate with none of the waiting around for it to boot.

not quite all. hibernate means you can switch off at the plug, whereas sleep needs a tiny bit of power going to the RAM. we're probably talking ~5-10W, but every little helps

That's a good point, it's only a few Watts though so I don't mind personally.

i infact never turn my pc off or put it into sleep mode or what ever olny restart for updates when i have a few months worth stacked up or it restart why i am at work or somthing.

i think it more i cba turning it on when i get back to it and i always put a film/tv show on to fall sleep to.
