Do you use the xbox 360 controller more these days?

I've just installed the mediaportal steam plugin on my htpc and started using the Xbox controller with Dirt 3. Horrible arcady game when I played it on my main rig with a wheel but actually quite fun when you're lazing around on the sofa in the living room. Can see myself using a bit more actually.

GTA4 and flying the jet on BF3, that's about it really.

Is it true that there is an advantage to flying BF3 Jets with a 360 controller over a joystick. I remember see people accusing others of using one but I have no idea if it gives you an actual advantage in game or not?

I fly jets using my old Force feedback Joystick and seem to do ok. I use K&M for helis, took a bit of getting used to but I find it better than a joystick.

I use both for PC gaming. For vehicles (land, sea & air) I use the controller. After I jump out its back to mouse-KB combo as like you said you cannot beat the accuracy of mouse-aiming when youre blatting away at baddies.

I find I use the controller more for games like GTA though but even in that one when a firefight breaks out it back on mouse-KB.

And +1 for Eurotruck sim hee hee :D

I tend to use the pad a lot more these days as ive spent to much time (past) playing on the 360 :(

But if the optimization for the game pad is bad il jump over to mouse n kb.

Certainly not an advantage in my hands, all I know is that I'm marginally better on a pad than I am on keys. That is to say I'm still terrible. :D

I play majority of my PC games on 55" panny TV from a couch, so x360 controller is practically only option. I am playing 99% games with it these days. Right now I am playing Crysis 2 from humble bundle. Played Metro Last Light before that. Will play Crysis 3 and Aliens Colonial Marines after, also with x360pad.

Controller has much worse accuracy (so I use aim help), but triggers, feedback and analog movement are good advantages compared to mouse and keyboard.

A gamepad is just more flexible than a joystick you just can't beat the versatility.

Your all good for:

Football games
Driving games
Flying games
FPS games (if you want. I prefer a keyboard and mouse)

with a joystick... well its only good for flying. If your heavy into your flight sims then an expensive £100+ joystick is the way to go but for the casual gamer I reckon a joypad is the way to go.

I think the 360 controller is stronger than a joystick in BF3 as its easier to throw your plane/heli about faster than a joystick with a quick flick of the thumb relative to the whole motion of throwing your arm about as you would need to do with a joystick.

I just use it for things like GTA IV, as I use the DF:GT on racing games. (Such as Euro Truck 2, you have to race between places, right? :p)

The rest are keyboard & mouse combo's ;)

Heh, same setup as me.

(Though it's a sofa ;) )

Use mine as a remote control for when lying in bed using xpadder to simulate a mouse. Quite handy when u dont wana sit at the desk just to browse the web or play media.

Gaming wise it depends, wouldnt play anything that needs mouse aim tho but somit thats racing or 3rd person action probably yeah.

use it for euro truck sim and other driving games as its waaaaay easier than keyboard and mouse to control. fps i use k+b for accuracy and speed.

use it on gta online and I always get called a cheater because its easier to use lol

Driving in gta 4 is a lot nicer on the control for corners i find with the 360 pad. If u use keys ur more all over on the corners more especially at speed tho i wouldnt play the gun fights with the pad.
