So I had a 20 year break from driving but when my dad passed away almost two
years ago he left me his car.
but i really dislike driving and i am considering walking to work and selling the car instead.
it would take me 40 minutes (2.1 miles) to walk there and the same back.
I'm semi retired so i only do 3 days a week (18 hours).

I'm 46 and it will help keeping fit.
does anyone else walk to work? do you think 40 minutes is to long or do others walk longer?

not bothered about getting wet i have a waterproof coat and a gold umbrella :D

so who else walks to work ?

40 minutes each way: hell yes unless you're talking about along the hard shoulder of the M53 or through the tunnel to scouser central :)

Work from home here and try to get out each day for a 40-45 minute walk. Only skip it when work gets crazy busy or the weather is prohibitively bad.

hello fellow Squirrel :D
and very apt name for this thread.

the main reason i am questioning it is although my shift is only 6 hours long (carehome)
i don't stop for a break or eat i simply don't have time.
lucky to get a drink of water/cup of tea :D
only 9 years to go until i fully retire.
i do like my 3 days even if its tiring but its my only connection to the real world.

I probebly would at that distance in fact did when I lived in Yorkshire.
Work in Padstow so in theory I could go on camel trail but still full time, why I don't know as I'm older than you, mortgage free and decent savings but I understand the connection thing, I think I may try go part time myself (although I have finished for Easter and posting from polzeath so can't complain too much)
Same as you, mortgage free and decent savings, i've kinda just taken it for granted.
