Hey guys,
Bit of scratch head moment...
My friend asked me to recommend a graphics card for £150 which he later received for Xmas. We decided on the HIS 270x.
Now after the many graphics card installs over the years I am a bit puzzled as to why we are granted with a blank empty screen.. the no input detected type of screen.
So removed all the old drivers, removed the old working card (Radeon HD6850) Installed the new card.. Nothing but a blank screen. Enabled the on-board card to log into windows and the new card isn't detected. Install latest drivers.. still nothing. The fan is moving and the 650w PSU surely provides plenty of juice for this particular card.
To cut the story short. I tested the card in my personal machine and still nothing, so we come to the conclusion that the card is DOA.
We received another GPU from Overclockers same model but it looks like a slightly newer version (heat sink/fan change) and we have exactly the same issue following the previous troubleshooting procedure
I have tested my 7970 is his machine and that works fine so I don't believe its related to his Motherboard related.
Hopefully someone can shed some light
Many thanks!
Chris
