Hi -
I'm just about to buy a laptop after about 8 years of doing without. I'd like to be able to connect it to something that connects it up to a monitor, mouse and keyboard. In the olden (!) days that used to be called a dockstation but I can't see anything around that matches that description now.

Can anyone tell me what I should be looking for or if it even exists any more?

Belkin do a hub device that allows you to have mouse/keyboard and monitor plugged in to it. use them at work and they are ok.

Personaly id go for a docking station though, they seem to last longer and have more ports.

I have a nx8220 which has a great docking station, much better than the port replicators I have seen for some laptops.

Do any of the Dell laptops have good docking stations?

I use a docking station with my thinkpad. I just disconnect the laptop and go when i'm on the move, otherwise it's connected to the kb/mouse/tft
