Doctor Who

Ten and Donna confirmed for the 60th.

Quite risky putting one of the most loved Doctors on the same screen as an unproven incoming Doctor. If the new guy isn't good straight away then it would just highlight it more.

I think they have one eye on the future re-sale of the series, cynically pulling in actors off of netflix successes
I don't watch sex education or heartstopper, their pedigree preceeds them.

bbc's latest young adult venture 'conversations with friends' sounds like a flop in that demographic, and confirms bbc ineptitude

BBC going for broke
as someone on the daily mail comment section says

Just came from the DM comments section and theres only one comment in there and that ain't it looks like they nuked the entire comments section, seems like they're trying to put a positive spin on it

I think you're right they've got one eye on the resale and/or trying to attact what they see as a BBC3 demographic. Oh dear.

Why call the new character Rose, are they that desperate to dangle keys in front of us to generate some sort of interest?

you probably read a different article

I had thought that the series Hit&Miss was a great transgender based series, it was handled seemlessly without a teaching agenda, good music too;
but chloe sevigny was not actually transgender, maybe it wouldn't be allowed now,
that would contradict my narrative that barrowman was good because he is gay though, chloe does have a big pedigree as an actress.

before it's time back in 2012 - hadn't remembered it was directed/written by Paul Abbot of shameless accolades - another potential Who writer ?

This thread's turned in to an absolute **** show, much like a lot of threads on OcUK these days :(

What happened to people watching TV and just taking it for what it is?

I don't care what ethnicity the characters are, I don't care what sexuality the characters are, if it's well written and well acted I'll probably enjoy it. If it's not, I won't.

Because you aren't a bigot and sadly there are quite a few on here that make it known in every TV thread that dares to cast a group that they disagree with.

I still watch and enjoy most TV shows I watch. I usually get slagged for my positive comments in certain tv show threads. 'How can I possibly enjoy it' its badly written and the characters/actors are all annoying. I just ignore them and keep being positive.

Not in the slightest. The point is that if they were actually being cast because they were good actors, there would be no need for every article to mention the fact they are trans gender/black/ whatever.
Instead it's mentioned to score some woke points with the target demographic, and fulfill the BBC's quota for getting minorities represented
