Document Management System

Does anyone know of a DMS where you can store and access the documents on your own server and not via an externally hosted source?

Am looking for a solution for work and we handle documents that cannot be passed outside our own systems, hence the reason for not wanting a hosted solution.

although i know less than nothing about it, i believe it's what microsoft sharepoint does. you could always google "sharepoint alternatives" to find similar apps.

Cheers. Thought it would be something along those lines. We do have SP here, but not a lot of people know how to use it.

May see if they wil send me on a course and then become a lead in it....

Not entirely constructive, but apparently some people would rather leave their job than learn how to use SharePoint, it's that bad.

We use Cognidox in house. SharePoint can get quite expensive quite quickly.

As alredy pointed out, Sharepoint, but thats not a road to be tread lightly, also HP Records manager (HP Trim) but by no means cheap!
