OK, so just had a mildly frustrating half-hour. I've got a piece of work (About 2,000 words) in docx format, created using Word 2010 which I just attempted to print using a Word 2007 machine.
This document isn't anything special, the only at-all non-standard thing it contains is a single embedded font (Uses Times New Roman and one other). No images, tables etc. just text.

What I'm confused about, is that Word 2007 decided to delete *all* the spaces in the first two paragraphs. No other changes, even changing between the embedded font & Times New Roman worked correctly.

What have I missed please?
Obviously checked the original on 2010, and all my spaces are where they ought to be, but this is the oddest bug I've seen in quite a while.

Would have to check TBQH, although I thought the compatibility pack only applied to 2003 downwards.
Both machines have had all the updates MS Update offers, but that's as far as I'd like to go without checking.

go to the machine with 2010 installed , open doc , save AS -> save it as normal doc file (2003-2007)
then just open it on other machine and all should be fine

office compatibility pack aint that for 2003, to make docx and newer docs work ?

anyhow its worth a try also, google ms compatibility office pack....

Linked compatibility pack is for 2003 down :s
Not saving as .doc as I've embedded a font, don't think these work properly with .doc?

For the moment have networked the printer, but this is the oddest bug I've ever seen.
Might try it without the embedded font at some stage, but still :)

This is actually an issue that was fixed a long time a go so I'm surprised you've come across it if you're fully up to date - could you check that at least Office 2007 service pack 2 is installed?

You read more here including a response from a Microsoft employee.

If it still doesn't work after that perhaps you should report it to them.
