dod source problem

i get really poor fps is dod source ive tryed everything new drivers everything but i monitored my cpu while playing and it is 100% all the time it never moves could anyone help me.
amd64 3700 san diego
bfg 7800gt 256
2 meg ram

I always found DODS really bad on my pc too yet CSS runs perfect. If its showing 100% u sure u have no background programs running which could affect it?

Do you get similar issues on CS:S / HL2 / HL2: DM?

100% sounds right on the CPU I believe, should be 100% for most games.

well oc css its a little better but still getting around 35fps just goes up when im in a small room or something.

When you say you've tried everything, have you tried turning the graphics detail level down? Especially AA / AF / HDR?

They have done quite a lot to the games recently including adding in HDR in loads of maps.

For source may i suggest a FPS config?

yup i tryed lower res hdr off dont make a diffrence anti aliasing make a little diffrence but not really much you can notice

Something is definitely up. My PC is worse than yours (noteably your graphics card) and I run it fine on 40-60 FPS. All details on high with 2 AA/AF (I think).

The source engine seems quite CPU dependent. Is your CPU overclocked? if not, is any of your hardware overclockered?

hi,
what is your fps_max setting??
for some strange reason when i go to play dod( which isnt often these days) my fps_max setting is always 300! ok,i have a good pc but it still causes lagginess grafix wise. i might be barking up the wroing tree but it might be worth looking at...
