Dodgeyist lag ever.

I upgraded recently to a phenom II system from an athlon 64 and its been up until i installed the cod4 demo, before it ran smooth with only slight lag, but now, on the same settings it lags all of the time and s an absolute pain in the arse. Anyone know why this is, i thought upgrading to a 2.8 ghz tri core would be an improvement from a 2.4 ghz single core, which it is in every game apart from cod4 and dawn of war. what is up here

hmmm, ive got a phenom 940 and a phenom 550, i tend to get slight lag every 2 or 3 minutes on grid. it slows down for a split second or so.

It does it more in win7 than xp though, cant put me finger on it, was fine when i had a q6600.

yeah i am running windows 7 but with the athlon it was fine. worst thing is i overclocked to 3.6 GHz on a rubbish cooler, and felt smug and then this happened.

have you completely reinstalled the OS after your upgrade? Otherwise if you've overclocked check its completely stable by running prime95
