Dodgy call from 'Natwest'

Ask them to prove they are Natwest next time they call...

Thats where it all becomes a sham, banks hold YOU liable if you won't talk to them when they call, they will not confirm who they are, or don't have to. If you refuse to confirm who you are and it really is them, and there were dodgey payments or something you will be liable.

Its a joke, banks call us, with no proof they are who they say they are, hold us liable if we won't talk to them, refuse to implement a way to prove its them when they call you, and will also hold you liable if someone calls you, pretends to be them with no proof who it is, and get your details.

The whole thing is laughable.

It should be so simple, firstly banks should have a page with EVERY SINGLE number they can use to contact customers, this should come up for every call, if its not a number they list, even if its them but they use some stupid number/phone, then the customer shouldn't be liable.

Their call centres should HAVE to if you request it give you a pin number or something for their caller and if you don't feel safe, you can go to their website, check the number, phone the right line, enter the pin number and get right back through to the same person, but with you having confirmed they work for the bank basically.

This is so stupid that banks will call you on loads of random numbers they don't list anywhere on their sites.

M&S called me, I have a CC with them, and they called, from an indian call centre, from a number listed absolutely no where on their site.

next time a company calls you
hang up after establishing who they are
wait for one hour
then ring back said company on their official number
enquire about any notes left on your account
and why they called you
if they say they didnt call you
ask them to make a note stating you did call back to enquire but they had nothing to dicsuss

then you can hold them liable
simple common sense logic

Hilarious ehhe. That is basically how they operate hehe. Thank god I never received a call from my bank.

2 things
google the number
youre not the only one
it is a scammy number
yes they can have your name
usually because you signed up somewhere with something and they purchased the accounts
it would be impossible to tell where
however it will stop soon.
dont worry about it
dont give them the pleasure of good music

We aren't allowed to use txt-spk on OCUK so why are we allowed to type in such a daft, incoherent way? Surely this should be banned to try and maintain some level of quality in GD, which is slipping by the day as it is.

A simple rule change, along the lines of "You must have a reasonable grip of the English language and correctly construct basic sentences whilst posting." would be enough.

Alternatively, "Please don't post like a 'tard." :p

This place would be like a ghost town. :p
