Hi there,

I got a E6400 yesterday and paired it with a DS3 and 2gb Geil pc6400 -

Firstly i was having trouble getting it to boot and then when i finally got it to work and installed windows it kept on getting in to windows and then crashing and did this everytime i turned it on?

Does this sound like a dodgy CPU?

Also what is the rma process with OcUK?

Cheers

When I first got my E6300 I had pretty much the same problem loading windows. I was using an IDE hard drive at the time, so I switched to a SATAII drive and it worked first time.

Might be worth trying if you have an IDE hard drive.
Im using two sata hard drives so that shouldn't be a problem?

The thing is, it was booting up fine last night but then crashing when it got in to windows; came to it this morning, turned it on, same thing happened no signal to screens and no post, fiddled about with the cpu and hsf and managed to get it to post but not every time?

This is really annoying me now

Have you installed all the motherboard drivers, I know mine is a right pig until I get them installed.

The first time I installed Windows it was easy the last time took days, it wouldn't even load files of my Driver CD's I had to copy them to the HDD first.
Ye that was the first thing i did, for about 30 mins it was working fine, then started crashing!

Going to have another go soon
