Dodgy front RAM socket on X570 Aorus Elite

I've got a Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite, and the RAM socket furthest away from the CPU is dodgy.

I had some issues with my PC not booting occasionally. It would sometimes do the three beep ram error then stop booting completely, black screen, no motherboard lights, no light on the GPU (Has a Geforce logo), but the fans turning at max.

I tried reseating the RAM and that seemed to fix it. However it kept crashing occasionally and not booting afterwards until the RAM was reseated, and now it won't boot at all with a RAM stick in that slot. (I've tried both 8gb sticks).

I've tried the other slots on my MB (with the exception of the first which is inaccessible due to the large air cooler) and the computer boots with those populated, but not the front socket.

So I presume the socket is either broken (there's no sign of damage), dirty/corroded, or there's some other hardware error. I have changed the CMOS battery too just in case, but that made no difference.

Is there any way to clean the contacts of the RAM socket? I don't want to damage it. I've cleaned the RAM sticks contacts and that made no difference.

Any ideas? Seems weird the computer gives no error beeps, but just doesn't power up properly at all if that socket is populated.

The only other thing I can think of is to get low profile RAM so I can use the other RAM sockets.

You could try electrical contact cleaner, its fast drying and non conductive, power off the system and leave for a while, squirt the cleaner into the slots and use a soft brush to agitate, leave to completely dry, worth a shot. Had to use this method to clean a friends laptop her dog peed on and stopped working, worked a treat.
Good luck.

Thanks for the reply!
I should have updated this thread, as it turned out to be dodgy RAM in the end (which was replaced under lifetime warranty by OCUK).
I did try cleaning the sockets with isopropyl alcohol, as well as the RAM contacts.
It was weird as initially it looked like one of the RAM sockets was faulty as swapping the RAM around seemed to make a difference, but in the end one stick failed completely and wouldn't work in any slot.
New RAM is working fine so far.
