I upgraded to 2GB about 3~4 months agao and all has been running fine! Until now...
My pc didn't wanna boot so i took all the memory out and then reseated one of the pairs (corsair value 1gb 2x512). These two are actual matched pairs (sold that way) and have the same serial number apart from the last number so i assume they were produced side by side.
The PC then booted ok.
I then insert the last two which are not matched pairs but are of the same product number VS512MB400. The pc again did not boot. So i removed one of them so that i had a matched pair and a single 512.
The pc booted but when it got into windows, it blue screened.
I then removed that stick and replaced it with the other non matched 512 and booted the pc.
The pc booted fine and loaded into windows okay.
Does that 3rd stick sound like its duff?
Is there any memory testing software that i can boot into and then run with each bit of memory?
