Hi all. I have just bought a new non genuine battery for my aging samsung NC10. I fitted the battery, powered up, charged it fully (stated 100%) then unplugged the charger. After a matter of a few seconds the machine reported no battery and hibenated.

It wouldn't turn on unless I plugged in AC. When windows boots (XP) it reports 0% charge but runs for a few hours. Doesn't appear to be charging, but I think it is.

I tried the calibration in the BIOS but same issue after 2-3 hours of waiting for the pack to discharge!

I have done a fair bit of googling and it seems 50/50 pointing to the battery/software bug, anyone got any experience?

Cheers :)

A new battery should be holding a charge, so contact the seller and ask for either a replacement or a refund and state the reason.

Hi Fish, it is definiately holding a charge, runs for a few hours but the whole time windows says its at 0% I'll see what the seller says then
