Ok, so I have a laptop (or a friend does anyways) and it's connected to the internet via a wireless card (DLink 600 i think).

Here's the infuriating problem...

Most of the time, the DLink monitor says there is a good or v.good connection, however the network connection fluctuates lots. Sometimes it works fine, then it suddenly cuts off. There's still good signal strength, but the internet cuts off. In particular on things such as skype, I don't think I've had longer than a 20second call using it.

Could anyone guess what the problem is? I've tried it without firewalls and it's running mcaffee virus protection but that's it I think. I just can't figure it out :(

Well I think they're just plain ADSL and they don't use anything else when using skype. Another point I've just thought of...at uni, she uses a network card, not wifi, and the internet works fine. I'm just wondering whether it's the card that's the problem, or more likely, some settings. (as the card always is connected with good signal strength)
