Dodgy power connector?

My housemate has a laptop which appeared to have a dodgy powercable, you have to ram it in at certain angles for it to work etc. Pretty standard stuff.

Except the new cable does it, so clearly there is a problem with the actual power point? Tried cleaning it out with a pin, but still issues?

Any ideas?

it will have come loose on the mainboard theres usually 3 solder points or it could be the jack socket itself, ramming it at dodgy angles will just make it worse, if your handy with a soldering iron you can strip it and have a go or let someone that knows what there doing have a go, stripping a laptop is easy its putting it back can be tricky if you dont make a note of where everything goes, if not you'll have to scour your local paper for a repair shop, the dc jacks can be bought fairly cheaply online.
