Hi guys

Ive been having a problem with my PC shutting off suddenly without any warning, no BSOD's or anything like that. Anyway when i move the 24 pin cable around my PC magically turns on and is fine but only for a week or so then the same problems happen again, getting fed up with it !

Should i replace my PSU with a new one? Its a XFX 750W Modular which is 3 years old.

Thanks

Check the motherboard socket and 24 pin connector on the PSU for bent or backed off terminals.

It could be that the green wire terminal is not making a good contact at times and this is preventing the power switch letting the PSU know it would like it to start up.

hey thanks for your response.

Just checked the socket and 24 pin connector and all seems fine to me.

I'm not sure, was bought from OC on 5th April 2011.

XFX 750W XXX Edition Modular '80 Plus Silver' Power Supply is the exact model.

Ordered a new PSU yesterday as its getting more frequent so hopefully that will sort the problem im guessing OC arnt open tomorrow? So won't get it till weds?
