Dodgy PSU ?

Still could be the electrics at fault, maybe faulty multiway plug adapter or ring main circuit, i would try plugging something powerful into the same socket you use, a vacuum cleaner/electric heater or something 500+ watts to test it.

You could also test your PC in another socket preferably on another circuit. Down stairs and upstairs are normally on seperate circuits but not always. If yours are on the same circuit double electric ovens or halogen hobs always have their same circuit often with a 13amp plug socket incorporated into the switch which would also work for testing.

Dont start plugging your PC into randoms sockets in the kitchen if your not sure what they do though.

If your PSU trips any circuit you try it on and nothing else trips in your PCs socket then i would send your PSU back, they have a 10 years warranty on them ones i believe. Its a pain sending back PSUs, theyre so heavy, ive had to send back 2 in a row once when they arrived DOA, i think it was a dodgey batch. COst me a fortune in special delivery costs.
