Hi guys

Got 2gb of Geil "Ultra Low Latency" which is advertised, and runs at, 800mhz 4-4-4-12.

SPD settings say it only does 5-5-5-15 though. Now that's alright because I changed those settings, but what about the other settings that CPU-Z doesn't report? Will the BIOS be using the (wrong) defaults from the RAM for these other settings I have left on 'auto'?

In same situation with the value geil kit, spd and what their advertised as differ.

But seems perfectly stable at what the website says it can manage so i suspect its just SPD being gay?

and the motherboard ( i would assume ) goes of SPD so yes auto would put it on the looser timings

Most likely so they can boot properly as the standard voltage in the bios is usually around 1.8v, if they were at the rated speed and timings it might fail to boot or have a high error rate meaning you cannot use the pc.

It's fine at what it's meant to be, 800mhz 4-4-4-12 with 1.8v.

Need 2.05v (Mobo won't do higher) to get either 860mhz 4-4-4-12 or 900mhz 5-5-5-12.
