The drivers side elec window.....

When i press the rocker switch it is very intermittent trying to get the window to go down. It works but takes several attempts at wiggling the switch But, pulling the switch to raise the window up it works fine first time.

Would you say it is a dodgy rocker switch?

It's possible that the contacts just have some crap in them. I'd take it apart and see what some electrical contact cleaner does for it.

This stuff ok?

Yes, but swap them around before you spend any money. If it isn't the switch, then you're probably going to need a lot more than contact cleaner.

Cant swap as the drivers side switches are mounted as a block. No way of separating the switches...

Can you not just swap the plugs around for testing purposes? No need to swap them over completely or permanently, just to see if the fault follows.

Post up some pics if you want, might make this a bit easier.

if it's like my a4 or 3series you have a single block connector for the driver 4 window switch block , so individual connections not reversible unless you physically cut and re-order those asigned to windows,

haven't personally dismantled one but seems they may be difficult to access vid even to squirt contact cleaner

Mine is easy to get to. Drivers side is a double switch on a switch block.

Even then, i could squirt from above under the switch in the gap. Worth a try i guess.

Going to get some of that stuff i linked to above...
