Dodgy Xbox...

Just wondering whether microsoft will take my xbox under the 3 red light repair scheme.

It has intermittent 3 red lights of death but it also 2 red lights often also.

The problem is, sometimes when i turn it on it will 3 red light and other times it'll just turn on without a problem. If it does start up and i proceed to play a game the xbox will 2 red light in under ten minutes. Usually if the xbox is overheating the fans will spool up really loud over a long period and then shut itself down (ala towel trick) but mine is silent then ramps up very quickly for 2 seconds then shuts off.

I'm just wondering when i send it off to microsoft they'll either say there is nothing wrong with it or that it's 2 red lighting and not covered under the 3 year warranty.

I've moved the xbox about, away from my entertainment unit and it still exhibits the same problem.

It's very annoying. Just gone back into education at Uni and really don't have the funds to buy another xbox...

If you tell them that it has three red lights they'll replace it.

It can be an intermittent problem and they're aware it might not do it every time.

If you're really worried that they'll return it and claim it's not covered, print off a photo of it RRoDing and stick it in the box.

Just tell them it has 3 red lights they won't check. I did it when mine had the E74 error before that was covered by the warrenty and they replaced it, no questions asked.
