does 3dmark03 not work these days?

Im confused, ever since i got out of the performance market about 3 years ago, from time to time ive been asked to build gaming spec rigs for customers. Having spent much time benchmarking with 3dmark03 i have a special love for it's tests, but each time i put together a rig im unable to run 3dmark03, every single time, on every build, nvidia or ati, sp2 and 3, it locks up on the splash screen.

Am i missing something? because i dont know what i can be doing wrong as im referencing 5+ builds with nothing in common bar running winXP.

Any help?

I used to run 3dmark03 but it was getting a bit too simple I think. Theres no reason it shouldnt work afaik

3dmark05 is single core and a good comparison of just graphics performance I think

3dmark 05 wont even install, double click and confirm, then nothing.

Just installed 3D mark 2001 & 2003 just to see, no problems here and thats with xpsp2, e7200 and a 4850, you tried re downloading them?

2001 sat @ 999fps Lol, at least 2003 could do 1000's

Yeah, some versions of 3DMark crash due to some error thingy somewhere. It's fixable.

you sure? my Q6600 at 3ghz gets nowhere near 1000fps, between 200-400 mostly

thanks m8, the hotfix did the trick, must be an msinfo32 incompatibility with newer cpu/gfx or the cats. wierd.

I must admit i didnt sit and watch i fired it up, left the room to spark up a cig and when i looked in the flying Dragon bit was on and it sat @ 999fps

However, i just ran it again and while the 1st section with the jeep has a good 10 secs running at 999fps & 1st section of Dragothic spent the entire time @ 999 but the rest of 2001's bits were here there n everywhere, total was a bit over 61000, i guess my previous post could have implied it all ran at 999fps Lol - I wish the 4850 was that good!

Perhaps 2001 doesnt benefit much with quads??

woot goit 45k out of 3d03 that tops the twin 7800gtx's and FX-57 i used to have, cant believe you can get these scores these days with about £300 of gfx/cpu. Mental
