I have been asked by someone at work to spec/build/recommend a PC for £600

He mainly just wants it for general usage and gaming is not massively important. However I imagine he would expect it to play games to a reasonable level.

With a monitor around 20-23inch.

Sorry if this kind of thing gets done to death. Ive seen a bunch of specs while trawling the threads but few have monitors and peripherals.

Any input appreciated.

Thanks!

I plan on ordering this at lunch time today. I notice no GFX card was included in that spec list.

Ill remove the SSD as I dont think he needs one right now (can be added later) and Ill only use the one 500gb drive.

The Rest looks good. What made the Viper ram a good choice? is there cheaper alternatives so I can up the gfx card budget?

I altered the spec to only have the one 500gb hard drive. I added an LG optical drive and I swapped the ram for 4gb of kingston genesis. Then I added a 7850 2gb gfx card.

Came to about 650 all in.

Just seems the PSU wasnt in stock which I didnt realise til I had clicked confirm order. Hope that doesnt delay things.
