Is it possible to install Windows 7 on to my eee901 that only has a 4gb SSD or do I have to use a specific edition of 7 for it to fit?

My Windows 7 folder a few weeks after installation is 13gb. So no, I don't think a standard install will fit :D

I did hear something about a netbook edition though.

Would I be right in saying you can't buy it though? It's only available to OEM's I read.

Don't think starter would fit on 4gb..

could you just buy a hard drive for it, instead of the SSD? or do they not accept hard drives.. never used one

I like the idea behind the SSD though, silent and efficient, that's why I presumably get about 6 hours on battery :/

Looks to be that way, but tbh I would stick with XP anyway.

Quote from a comparison:

Windows 7 actually shows modest gains on XP in SSD performance. This wasn’t surprising, given the press coverage that has been dedicated to this very topic. However, this is where Windows 7’s dominance ends. XP bests it in every other measurable way on the 901.

Actually, thinking about what Sp00n said, in the same position, I'd just install a really light Windows XP Home, using nlite
