Does a 144Hz monitor make a difference

I have a 60Hz monitor at the moment and I'm thinking about getting a 144Hz monitor but I don't know how much difference it usually makes - I usually play with vsync on in most games because with vsync on the game just feels smoother..... If I got a 144Hz monitor and wanted to use vsync this would mean that I'd have to make sure my games run at 144Hz and games like GTA won't run at that

So on 144Hz monitor with vsync off running at 80-100+FPS would the games feel smoother than a 60Hz monitor with vsync on

Cheers for that, makes things a bit easier to understand

In most games I usually get well over 60FPS if I play with vsync off - Would it not be recommended to play with vsync off on a 144Hz monitor though as you'll get less frame tearing and it'll be smoother if you're getting high FPS (80-100)

Got the benq XL2411Z connected it, set to 144Hz and the difference I noticed straight away. Played CS GO / rocket league and the difference was good - So smooth

But the monitor has quite a few stuck pixels and bad uniformity, thinking of getting a replacement or extending my budget to £350 for a gsync monitor

I've got a replacement monitor coming (ordered from a site that's known for it's great customer service)

If the other one has stuck pixels then I will consider a different monitor
