Does a router exist, that just ****ing works?!

As title. On my third or so router in about 5 years. All have been the same, seem to be great for about 6 months, and then after a while constantly need rebooting/ turning off and on again.

At the moment pretty much have to do this daily. One device in the house will work ok, and then another won't etc etc. Probably about 10 wireless devices in the house at a guess.

Tried setting channel to auto, to 1, 6 or 11 (as advised before), have assigned a static ip address for a few devices. Does not seem to make any difference.

Getting very very tiresome. I don't need/ want anything fancy. Can't get fibre where I live either, max download speed is about 7Mbits (is it bits, not sure?) Less than 1MB per second download speeds anyway, I know that.

So, any recommendations for a good router that just works, and doesn't need rebooting al the time?

Nothing fancy, a few Netgear Dg834 whatevers, and currently using a D-Link DSL-3680.
As mentioned, they seem to work great for a few months, and then start to cause problems.

I'm not an expert on routers at all. What do I need to do, or look out for if buying a new one?

It's DSL. Firmware is the latest

Also, I've reset the router just (physically pressing the little indented reset button on the body). All the basic info now set up and back as was.

Just been reading up about wifi interference. There is one thing - I recently set up a crappy cable and wireless cordless telephone that my parents no longer wanted. This most likely operates on the 2.4ghz band, which can interfere with wifi routers? Is that right? But would it be interfering if it's not being used? I mean it's just sat there in the cradle 99.9% of the time, downstairs in another room. Surely it's not 'broadcasting' if it's not making or receiving a call?

I can sack the phone if needs be. Do I need to buy a fancy dual band router though anyway?

It's an internal 'wifi' issue that's the problem. ie various wireless devices (ipad, iphone, PS4, NOWtv box etc) just will not connect to the internet sometimes, unless I reboot the router or turn off and on again. My desktop PC is physically connected to the router with a cable and I hardly ever have internet issues with that.

It's not over heating or anything like that either. Is on a desk in the open.

Not a line fault either, and that wouldn't affect wifi would it?. Line noise and attenuation figures all good and constant too:
Up:20.7
Down:40.5
SN margin:
Up:11.9
Down:12.0

One thing I did notice is that on the basic quick start summary page "Total errors seconds:" was 70 something. Since re-setting the whole router this figure is now at 0 and has been for the last 30 mins or so.

Well, decided I'm going to get a new modem/ router combo. Will try out a dual band TP link D2 Archer I think and see how that goes....
